What A Mess

I support Sen Kyl, we need to slow down and not rush to punish AIG employees for Obama/Geithner/Dodd’s errors. Before Congress attempts to limit compensation for executives who have failed, many need to look in the mirror to see a failure who continues to collect payment from the citizens they have failed.

My anger at the companies is so much less than my great anger at the incompetence of Congress. Why is it the AIG employees should suffer fear for the safety of their families, by this government interference? Congress is making private citizens targets of mob violence to deflect from having to pay for their own crimes. The protests shouldn’t be against AIG it should be against Congress.

Every Representative and Senator who voted for that legislation should ante up and pay the taxpayers back the $168 million! Perhaps, if the are educable, they will learn to refuse to vote on any bill they have not personally read and thoroughly considered the potential unexpected outcomes. There was no rational thought utilized by those who were pushed into voting without complete understanding of what the heck they were voting for. Members of Congress are elected to represent their constituents. For the most part I see them blindly following a far left (socialistic) line and it is high time for this to stop.

Today the New York Times reports that "The Obama administration will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation, government officials said."

I do not speak from a position of wealth. I made my choices in life and worked for my personal satisfaction as a professional nurse rather than to gain wealth. My salary met my needs and allowed for some savings for retirement. Now my savings have evaporated and I still will not buy into class envy because some persons make a lot of money. More power to those who use their talents to increase their wealth or to satisfy their most important goals, This is what freedom is all about. This is what our current government is determined to undermine so that those in power can distribute the wealth from those who earned it to those that have learned well that to be a victim is to be cared for with no effort on their part.
