U.N. Proposes Doubling of Aid to Cut Poverty

"

UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 17 - An international team sponsored by the United Nations proposed a detailed, ambitious plan on Monday that it says could halve extreme poverty and save the lives of millions of children and hundreds of thousands of mothers each year by 2015."The New York Times > International > U.N. Proposes Doubling of Aid to Cut Poverty

I can certainly approve the goal of helping cut poverty around the world. I cannot trust the UN to manage or deliver such aid. If the US makes a pledge, it should be for direct aid to the impoverished countries. Feeding more money into the corrupt UN to increase it's budget and fund more high paid bureaucrats is no way to help.
