A Worthwhile Search Engine

As many of you may know I am a member of a Soldier's Angels letter writing team because I support our troops and their mission. Today I came across a blog that is new to me and is written by the spouse of one of our bravest and best. She writes of an opportunity to help support agencies that support our troops. I am reposting her post below and encourage readers to try this out.

GoodSearch.com

Patti at Soldiers Angels says this is a go, so I am posting! Let's all move out and do our internet searching while helping great organizations!!!

Dear Troop Supporters,

What if your favorite Military support organization earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Well, now it can!

www.GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half their revenue to charities and schools. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it’s powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.

The potential for raising considerable funds for worthy causes is huge! For example, if just 500 of an organization’s supporters searched four times a day, that organization would receive approximately $7,300 per year to help fund its mission.

Several military support organizations are listed on Goodsearch including Soldiers Angels and Operation Homefront. If your favorite organization is not listed on the site already, you can add it by clicking on the “Add a Charity” button on the Goodsearch homepage. Please be sure to check out Goodsearch on Tuesday, July 4th as we are going to be featured as the Charity of the Day!

You can read some of the press on GoodSearch in The NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, Oprah Magazine, Fortune Small Business Magazine, and many other publications at: http://www.goodsearch.com/Press.aspx

Please let the visitors to your blog know that they too can easily support your favorite organization and feel free to add the GoodSearch logo to your blog which you can find at http://www.goodsearch.com/Logo.aspx

You use GoodSearch.com like any other search engine - the site is powered by Yahoo! - but each time you do, money is generated for us. Here’s how it works:
1. Go to http://www.goodsearch.com/
2. Type (your organization) into the “I support” box and click on “verify”
3. Search the Internet just like you would with any search engine
4. Since GoodSearch shares its advertising revenue with charities and schools, every time you search the Internet at GoodSearch, you’ll be earning money for us.

GoodSearch also has a toolbar you can download from the homepage so that you can search right from the top of your browser.

You can keep track of our estimated earnings by clicking on “amount raised” once you designate us as your organization of choice. The more people who use the site, the more money we’ll earn, so please spread the word!!
