"For example, the first Congress (which adopted the First Amendment) passed the Northwest Ordinance, which stated, 'Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.' While prohibiting an 'establishment of religion,' the First Amendment also protects the 'free exercise thereof.' Clearly, the first Congress saw no conflict between the First Amendment and schools teaching religion and morality."
This article supports my view that while our government is not to establish a national religion, it must support our rights to worship and in fact encourage the moral precepts found in religions.

The ACLU is anti-Christian. They honestly want to remove all vestages of any signs of any Christian religion from anywhere but the privacy of one's own home. If they succeed, they will then attack Christianity in people's home, much like China. There is nothing left redeeming about the ACLU.
