THE DEBATE

I watched the debate. Kerry obviously speaks with a well modulated voice and stage presence. He was relaxed and his hands were well manicured. Kerry stated he has been consistent although he did not convince me since I have followed his campaign since the primaries. He again reiterateed that he has a plan. It seems as if he thinks that if he says this often enough people will begin to think he has a plan. I however did not hear them. The things he has mentioned before are exactly what President Bush has been doing. Kerry wants more meetings, a summit and will do a global test before engaging in another theater of war if we are attacked again or a threat is immentent. On one hand Kerry speaks of building better relations with our allies. This is the man who has denigrated the current coalition and insulted PM Allawi. We have a diplomatic coalition working with North Korea. Here Kerry would go into unilateral talks directly with North Korea. I wonder how the other countries currently involved would react to this.
Here, I have to say I will choose the Bush position of being aggressive to protect the United States rather than poll the world for their opinion. President Bush appeared tired which is understandable since he had spent the day in the hurricane ravaged areas doing his job as the national comforter. Bush stayed with his message which was pursue the terrorists, get them close to their base rather than on our homeland.
